हिंदू धर्म के कितने महादान हैं?
हिन्दू धर्म में दान का अत्यधिक महत्व है। दान को पुण्य प्राप्ति का सरल मार्ग माना जाता है। वहीं, सनातन धर्म में पांच प्रकार के दान का उल्लेख मिलता है। ये पांच दान व्यक्ति का कल्याण कर सकते हैं, व्यक्ति को भौतिक सुखों का स्वामी बना सकते हैं और भगवान के और भी निकट ले जा सकते हैं।

गौदान: सनातन धर्म के अनुसार, गौ माता में समस्त देवी-देवताओं का वास होता है। ऐसे में जो भी व्यक्ति गौ दान करता है उसके जीवन की समस्त परेशानियों का अंत हो जाता है। गौदान से व्यक्ति की आने वाली पीढ़ी तक तर जाती है। गौदान करने वाले व्यक्ति के पूर्वजों को जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्ति मिल जाती है और पितर भी प्रसन्न रहते हैं।
भूमिदान: माना जाता है कि अगर आश्रम, विद्यालय, भवन, धर्मशाला, प्याउ, गौशाला निर्माण आदि के लिए भूमि दान किया जाए तो इससे व्यक्ति के घर सुख-समृद्धि की स्थापना होती है।भूमि दान का प्रचालन प्राचीन काल में अधिक था। रजा बलि ने भी भगवान विष्णु के बटुक अवतार को भूमि दान में दी थी जिसके बाद उन्हें भगवान विष्णु की असीम कृपा प्राप्त हुई थी।

अन्नदान: अन्न दान का अर्थ है किसी भूखे व्यक्ति का पेट भरना। माना जाता है कि अन्न दान करने से 100 यज्ञों के बराबर पुण्य मिलता है और अन्न दान करने वाले व्यक्ति का घर हमेशा धन-धान्य से भरा रहता है।अन्न दान करने से व्यक्ति और उसके पूरे परिवार पर मां लक्ष्मी और मां अन्नपूर्णा की कृपा बनी रहती है। साथ ही, भगवान विष्णु के आशीर्वाद से अन्न दान करने वाले व्यक्ति के घर पर कभी कोई संकट नहीं आता।
विद्यादान: विद्या दान को न सिर्फ धार्मिक बल्कि सामजिक दृष्टि से भी उच्चतम माना गया है। विद्या दान से समाज का कल्याण होता है। विद्या दान करने से मां सरस्वती की कृपा बनी रहती है। विद्या दान करने वाले व्यक्ति के घर में हमेशा ज्ञान का वास होता है और उस घर का हर एक सदस्य जीवन में ज्ञान के बलबूते अपार विकास करता है। व्यक्ति में विवेकशीलता जैसे गुणों का संचार होता है।
कन्यादान: कन्या दान भी महा दान में शामिल है। यहां तक कि कन्या दान को अन्य सभी दानों में सर्वोच्च माना गया है। यह दान कन्या के माता-पिता द्वारा उसके विवाह के समय पर किया जाता है। मान्यता है कि कन्या दान करने से लड़की के माता पिता को मृत्यु के बाद मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है और लड़की के मायके में हमेशा मां लक्ष्मी का साक्षात वास बना रहता है।

Cow donation: According to Sanatan Dharma, all the gods and goddesses reside in mother cow. In such a situation, whoever donates a cow, all the troubles of his life come to an end. The ancestors of the person who donates the cow get freedom from the cycle of birth and death and the forefathers also remain happy.
Land donation: It is believed that if land is donated for the construction of an ashram, school, building, dharamshala, pyau, cowshed etc., then happiness and prosperity is established in the person's home. The operation of land donation was more in ancient times. Raja Bali also donated land to the Batuk avatar of Lord Vishnu, after which he received the immense grace of Lord Vishnu.

Grain donation: Food donation means filling the stomach of a hungry person. It is believed that by donating food, one gets virtue equal to 100 yagyas and the house of the person who donates food is always full of money and grains. Also, with the blessings of Lord Vishnu, no trouble ever comes to the house of the person who donates food.
Knowledge donation: Vidya Daan has been considered the highest not only from the religious point of view but also from the social point of view. Society is benefited by donating knowledge. Mother Saraswati's grace remains by donating knowledge. Knowledge always resides in the house of a person who donates knowledge and every member of that house makes immense progress in life on the basis of knowledge. There is communication of qualities like prudence in a person.
Daughter donation: Kanya Daan is also included in Maha Daan. Even Kanya Daan is considered supreme among all other Daan. This donation is done by the parents of the girl child at the time of her marriage. It is believed that by donating a girl child, the girl's parents get salvation after death and the presence of Goddess Lakshmi always remains in the girl's home.
